WORKING AT LIGHTNING

Why work at Lightning?

Lightning’s vision is to drive the transformation of commercial fleets from internal combustion engines to zero emission vehicles (ZEV). While many auto companies are entering the personal electric vehicle market, we choose to focus on vehicle types that support both moving people, such as school buses, ambulances, and shuttle vans, as well as conducting commerce like delivery trucks and delivery vans.

Lightning is proud to offer solutions that have a direct impact on reducing the effects of climate change, and working here gives us the ability to merge our passion for the environment and our communities with our love of vehicles. We’re unapologetically car-people who also love the earth!

As a mature start-up, we can offer you growth opportunities, solutions to find, challenges to help us overcome, and questions to ask! This means that we are always ready to adapt and ask, “why not” instead of saying we “cannot”.

Our ideal candidates are:

  • Collaborative … it’s a core value and requires both honesty and integrity.
  • Kind/friendly/thoughtful … because we believe in the platinum rule.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback … because that is a two-way street!
  • Comfortable defining processes … because sometimes, we don’t have definitive answers yet.
  • Adventurous … we’re disrupting the auto industry, so it’s not always a walk in the park. Plus, we live and work in Colorado where adventures await us!
  • Fun … because we want you to enjoy where you work!

What you’ll get in return:

  • Transparency
  • Career/skills development so that we are encouraging continual learning and ensuring you’re always adding to your skill toolbelt.
  • A supportive team that not only celebrates wins but also rallies when things aren’t as successful.
  • Superb benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Long/Short term disability, DCFSA/HSA, HRA, 401(k) with company match, and many other voluntary benefits)
  • 20 days of PTO + 7 paid holidays and Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
  • Fun company events like a homemade salsa competition, Earth Day event, summer BBQ, Fall events, and a holiday luncheon among others!
